Frequently Asked Questions

NEED TO KNOW

When does your season begin?

Our fall season begins in August with practices in the Round Rock area. Specifics can be found on our calendar in the schedule link.

What makes you different from other homeschool programs?

We are the only area program that provides players a competitive 11-man tackle environment that college recruiters and coaches need. This provides great scholarship opportunities in Texas and nationally. We also have a lot more fun:)

What does your schedule look like?

The schedule is currently posted in the Events section with several games already confirmed. Given our desire to compete with other homeschool and parochial teams, we will be playing throughout Texas, including Dallas and Houston. About half of our games will be played locally.

Is this only available to homeschoolers?

This program is available to kids in a wide range of educational formats, including co-ops, charter, parochial, and public online. If your school does not have an 11-man team, then you can play for us.

How does your program approach player safety?

Safety is our #1 concern in both practices and games. Concussion and heat exhaustion are primary among those. Our coaches utilize the Heads-Up approach for concussion prevention. We closely monitor our players to prevent injury and have established protocols when injuries do take place. If an injury occurs, our response includes immediate action and monitoring with timely updates to parents. We are fully stocked on fluids at all times and have a medical kit on-site. For games, we will have a sports trainer and/or medical professional available at all times.

Do you have all of the equipment to fully protect my son(s)?

Yes, we are second-to-none when considering player safety. Our program only succeeds by keeping our players safe and healthy for the entire season. Our equipment stock is plentiful to support player adds and/or size adjustments. To minimize injury risk, we only provide our players industry-leading equipment. We use Schutt F7 VTD Collegiate Helmets built to maximize head protection and minimize concussion risks. For upper-body, we provide Schutt XV HD shoulder pads that are position-specific to maximize athletic performance, while minimizing injury risk. For the legs, our uniform package includes pants with integrated padding.

What if I have already registered for another team?

These days, teams are beginning registration much earlier in the year before all decisions at home are final. Please contact us directly and we will work with you to find a fair solution.

Do you have options to make player fees more affordable?

Our team was created with the goal of reduce/eliminate player fees through the generosity of key sponsors. Please contact us directly for options available at atxfootball@atxcrusaders.com.
